Elaion Olive Oil awarded as “Best of Greece” for 2019

Elaion Olive Oil has been awarded for third time with the prize of ”Best of Greece’’ . The International Olive Oil Awards are organised and managed by a scientific institution, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and specifically the School of Life Sciences and Facility Management for the 16th consecutive year. The award ceremony took place in Zurich, Switzerland in April 2019. There were more than 89 entries from more than 8 countries, which were tasted and judged objectively by an accredited panel of experts. The Swiss Olive Oil Panel consists of 35 trained experts and is recognised by the International Olive Oil Council for its sensory evaluations since 2013. Tests have been performed at the university’s fully equipped laboratories and olive oil is classified based on legal requirements ( EU/IOC).

Out of 10 Greek olive oils that participated, Elaion Fresh Bio Olive Oil, a 100% Koroneiki variety was distinguished as ”Best of Greece” of 2019. In a very difficult production year with limited quantities of good quality olive oil, Elaion Olive Oil was distinguished and thrived to reach the top for its harmony factor – 7.1, intensity, fruitless, bitterness and pungency. Mr. Konstantinos Scrivanos, founder and CEO of the company expressed his gratitude for such a distinction.

Talks & Meetings for Direct Athens – Shanghai flights

A few days ago, the leadership of Hellas House was honored to orchestrate an important meeting for Greek executives (from the Ministry of Tourism & the National Tourism Organisation) at the headquarters of China Eastern Airlines (东方航空) in Shanghai.

During the meeting that was also attended from the Hellas Group board of seniors, the two sides exchanged opinions related to the opening of direct flights between Shanghai and Athens, as another step to further promote Travel and Tourism between China and Greece, in the near future.

“When Greece Meets Confucius”!

Within the framework of developing cultural exchanges between China and Greece, an important press conference took place at the Confucian Temple in Shanghai (文庙). The event was organised by Hellas Group and Confucius Temple, in a series of activities related to the International Culture Week.

Due to its great cultural significance, the event was covered by more than 50 leading Chinese media.

Among the speakers of this important event were Mr & Mrs. Kontomichalos Founder & CEO, and President of Hellas Group, Mr. James Dong, CEO of the Confucian Temple, Mrs. Aggeliki Chondromatidou, Director of Ministry of Tourism and Vice President of the Greek National Tourism Organisation and Mr. Vassilis Xiros, Consul General of Greece in Shanghai.

Hellas Group and Hejia (河加) Visas Consulting Group, one of China’s leading professional overseas investment companies signed an agreement ; a joint effort for the bilateral tourism and investment promotion between China and Greece.

Mr. Fokion Drossos, on behalf of Hellas House and My Odyssey and Mrs. Eugenia Christodoulakou, Director of Communication & Development of the Museum of Cycladic Art , signed an MOU of cultural partnership. — with Sophia Kontomichalou, Fokion Drossos and Eugenia Christodoulakos in Shanghai, China.

Hellas Group promotes Tourism and Trade between Greece and China, during a special ceremony on the 7th of November organised at the CIIE exhibition.

The Opening and Signing Ceremony under the title “Imported New Technology, New Products Launch and Trading Platform” was officially launched by Orient International Group, an official recruitment partner of the China International Import Expo (CIIE) . The Director of Ministry of Tourism of Greece and Vice President of the Greek National Tourism Organisation, Mrs. Aggeliki Chondromatidou and Hellas Group’s Founder and CEO, Mr. Pavlos Kontomichalos delivered a speech.

In her speech Mrs. Chondromatidou launched the 365-Days Tour Destination Programme for Greece and announced her commitment to promote the opening of direct flights from Athens to Shanghai.

Mr. Kontomichalos , Founder and CEO of Hellas Group, delivered a speech on behalf of Greek enterprises.

“Thank you very much to the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Government of Changning District, Orient International Group to give Hellas Group such an opportunity to speak here. The company and all its brands will respond to One Belt And One Road’s call to bring the best Greek products to Shanghai and China. Through this expo, we will also cooperate with Orient International and continue to show more beautiful and better Greek products to Chinese consumers on the 365 platform. As a window for Greek enterprises in China, Hellas Group will actively promote the development of cultural exchanges, and trade cooperation. Backed by Greece and based in Shanghai, Hellas Group of companies will strive to bring not only more but also high-quality Greek products to Chinese consumers. The signing agreement was between Hellas Group and Xun Lian Fang (新联坊)  Import Export Company.

The Signing Ceremony was presented by Mrs. Yuan Ming (袁鸣) and covered by Xinhua News Agency, the biggest and most influential media organisation in China.

Hellas Group welcomes the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic at Hellas House during the first China International Import Export Exhibition (CIIE) in Shanghai.

Hellas Group leadership (Mr. Pavlos Kontomichalos, Mrs. Sophia Kontomichalou & Fokion Drossos) had the honor to welcome the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, George Katrougalos. The Greek Minister was accompanied by the Ambassador of Greece to China (Leonidas Rokanas), the Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Greek Embassy (Emmanuel Stanzos), the Head of the Press Office of the Embassy, Euthymios Athanasiadis and the Consul General of Greece in Shanghai, Vassilis Xiros.
Within the framework of CIIE 2018, Mr. Katrougalos was interviewed by three leading Chinese media, 梨视频, (PearVideo), 凤凰卫视 (PHOENIXTV ), and 界面新闻 (Jiemian News) at Hellas House.

My Odyssey in collaboration with the China Photographers Association organises the photography exhibition ‘’ DREAM & MEMORY’’ 16/10/2018- 23/10/2018

Art Space Ziller, hosts an exhibition of 41 images from the rich archive of the China Photographers Association, documenting the vast changes in Chinese people’s lives from the 20th to the 21st century.

China Photographers Association presents a rare photographic journey, which highlights China’s “transition” from the 20th to the 21st century as captured by the photographic lens of its members. My Odyssey Travel hosts the exhibition “Dream & Memory: Everyday life in China, now and then” at its emblematic neoclassical premises at Agias Irinis Square in the heart of Athens.

The exhibition has no listing of China’s milestone events or symbolic moments of a bygone era. It rather observes the changes in people’s daily lives through their clothing, housing, entertainment and environment. By reading into ordinary people’s expressions and body language, or looking at simple family photo, the visitor can perceive the progress of the Chinese society.

Founded in December 1956, China Photographers Association was the first national photographic organization in Chinese history. The professional organization consists of photographers from different ethnic groups from across China.

My Odyssey Travel, a member of the Hellas Group business group in Greece and China, is leading in collaboration with recognized cultural and academic institutions from the Asian country, organizing high-level travel experiences and events aimed at highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Greece.

At the inauguration will be officially a six-member Chinese mission, including Yang Yueluan Vice President of the “China Photographic Association” and Hu Zhiqiang, Deputy Director of the CFLAC Photography Art Center.

Greece – 365days a year tourist destination

Two special events were hosted at Hellas House on Thursday 17 May for boosting Greek Tourism and the links between the two countries, Greece and China.

In the morning, a press conference was co-organised with the Greek Ministry of Tourism where Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura presented to more than 30 prominent chinese journalists Greece as a 365 days a year tourist destination, referred to plans to boost the arrival of Chinese visitors and attract new tourist flows to Greece in current and coming years.

Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura accompanied by Ambassador of Greece to China Leonidas Rokanas and the Consul General of Greece in Shanghai Vassilis Xiros.

Presented the investment opportunities that Greece offers as an attractive international destination and she also highlighted the actions made for the quicker issuance of visas for Chinese travelers on behalf of the country’s consular authorities in China.

In the afternoon of same day, Hellas House represented by Founder & CEO Mr. Kontomichalos, Athens International Airport represented by Director of Communications Mrs. Papadopoulou Ioanna and the Ministry of Tourism organised an event with the major China airlines. The aim of the event was for all parties to explore the possibilities and the need of the market for the launch of a new direct flight between Shanghai and Athens. During the event, Greece was introduced as an attractive destination to the Chinese market, the successful example of the Beijing – Athens route was presented while Athens International Airport presented benefits to facilitate both Chinese travelers in Athens and Chinese airline carriers for introducing a new direct route to Athens Int. Airport.
